Loene Carmen
Biography
Loene Carmen is an Australian singer-songwriter, musician, producer, author and actress.
Carmen was discovered at sixteen working in a Kings Cross pizza bar and cast as the "wild and haunted" Freya Olson in John Duigan's The Year My Voice Broke (1987). She was nominated for an Australian Film Institute Best Actress award for her role as Freya, 'arguably one of Australian cinema's most finely developed female characters, evoking the subtle shades of a burgeoning womanliness.'
Carmen is the daughter of rock-jazz-blues pianist Peter Head, founder of The Mount Lofty Rangers. She had a daughter, singer-songwriter Holiday Sidewinder, in 1990, while in a relationship with American bullfighter Jeremy Sparks. She married actor Aden Young since 2014 and they have two children.
