Biography
Kiran Acharya (b. 1983) is a filmmaker from Northern Ireland. After working on several independent films in the United Kingdom he made the feature documentary Survival Of The Fastest with cult Irish thrash band Gama Bomb, described as "a joyous addition to the story of Irish punk" by the Irish Film Institute and "not what you expect from a metal band" by the BBC.
Known for going beyond traditional filmmaking in print, music and photography, he is a frequent collaborator with sound designers and composers on work for exhibition and installation.
Eternity Interrupted, with music from composer Clint Mansell, is an early combination of documentary and augmented reality created over two years during the pandemic in London.
He is the recipient of a Puttnam Scholarship for creative talent, awarded by Oscar-winning filmmaker Lord David Puttnam.
