Karim Tadlaoui (in Arabic: كريم التدلاوي), whose real name is Mohammed Karim Tadlaoui, born January 10, 1962 in Fez, Morocco, is a Moroccan singer-songwriter, performer, and lutenist. His studio albums include Mghamer (1993), Rfigue (2004), Mennek (2014), Safar Âla Watar (2014), and Taranim (2020).

Karim Tadlaoui, born in 1962 in Fez, Morocco, grew up in Casablanca in a family of music lovers, where Karim was immersed in a love of music from an early age. After obtaining his Baccalaureate in Experimental Sciences, Karim enrolled at the Casablanca Conservatory of Music. There, he studied lute, singing, choir, and Mouachah from 1978 to 1985, while pursuing university studies at Hassan II University in Casablanca, where he earned a DEUG (Degree in Economics).

Karim released his first studio album, Mghamer, in 1993. His musical talent captivated audiences, and he performed on stage in Morocco and abroad, including the Festival of Oriental Culture at the Théâtre Flamand in Brussels (Belgium) in 1992, alongside Tayeb Saddiki and Ahmed Snoussi, then the Festival of Oriental Music in Florida (USA) in 1995, the Festival Les Nuits du Ramadan at the Cairo Opera House in 1997 and 1998, and the International Lute Festival in Tetouan (Morocco) in 2000.

In 2002, he was a member of the jury for the new talent competition show Noujoumwa Noujoum, broadcast on the Moroccan channel 2M. In 2003, Karim Tadlaoui released his second studio album, Rfigue (Companion), produced by Artishow, a subsidiary of the Egyptian music label Alam El Phan.

He was a member of the jury and coach of the new talent competition show Studio 2M for three consecutive years, in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Nicknamed "The Lutenist with the Golden Fingers," in 2005 he composed the music for the TV film Demande d'Emploi (Job Request) directed by Saâd Chraïbi, as well as for other artists. In 2010, Karim Tadlaoui represented Morocco at the 11th Music Festival of the Arab World Institute in Paris. He has been invited to tribute evenings for great Moroccan and Arab singers, including those for composer Abderrahim Sekkat in 2010, then for Abdelwahab Doukkali in August 2010, and for the great Lebanese tenor Wadih Al-Safi on the set of Morocco's leading channel, 2M.

In 2013, Karim was once again a casting judge for the talent show Studio 2M. A year later, in 2014, he released his third studio album, Mennek (Of You), which was followed by the album Safar Âla Watar (Journey on a Rope). That same year, he opened the International Lute Festival in Tetouan, Morocco. In 2015, he performed at the closing night of the Alegria festival in Chefchaouen and was awarded the Wissam Al-Moukafa Al-Watania (Order of National Merit of Morocco) by King Mohammed VI for the composition of the song Ard Albaraka in November 2015.

He then released the singles "Kadaroun Anti" in March 2016 and "Malzoum Bik" in November 2017, followed by the track "Chakwa Lillah" in 2019. In 2020, he returned to the studio and released the album "Taranim," followed by the singles "Assoura" in 2020 and "Ana Maghribi," a duet with Hasna Al Maghribia, in 2022.

In 2023, Karim Tadlaoui performed at the Maroc au Cœur charity concert, organized by Chico & The Gypsies, to benefit the victims of the earthquake that shook Morocco on the night of September 8-9, 2023.
