Biography

Porca Véia, stage name of Élio da Rosa Xavier (March 2, 1952 – June 12, 2020) was a Brazilian singer, composer and accordionist.

A rural producer until the age of 16, he began his artistic career at the age of six, under the influence of his family. He took a technical agricultural course, when he gained the nickname that became his stage name. He won several festivals as an instrumentalist and performed in the best concert halls in Brazil, such as Canecão in Rio de Janeiro and at the Palace in São Paulo. He won nineteen out of twenty accordionist competitions in which he participated, and also won two Gold Record awards.
