Biography
Rocío Olea (Rosie) is a screenwriter and producer, graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the National University of Mar del Plata (UNMDP). Her first academic short films were Barcelona and La libertad de ser artista, followed by Nuestra huella and Víctor, el hombre de hoy, el joven que fue, the latter being her graduation project.
Her first short film outside the academic sphere, Punzante, was co-written and produced by her, marking her debut as a professional filmmaker.
Rosie’s work focuses on memory and human connections, exploring the intimacy of emotions and the power of the collective. Through stories that weave nostalgia, art, and resilience, she seeks to reveal the traces left by encounters and experiences that shape generations.
She also participated as a Jury Assistant at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.
Currently, she is the founder of CINEBUZON, an Instagram page dedicated to promoting Mar del Plata’s film culture.
