Jashwant Gangani, born in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, India is a respected name in Indian cinema known for his multi-faceted talent as a writer, director, producer, and lyricist. Belonging to a modest Gujarati family with no formal background in film, he carved his own path in the entertainment industry through passion, perseverance, and creativity.
At just 26, Gangani wrote a breakout hit that launched his successful career. In 1998, he founded his own production house, debuting as a producer-director with Man Sayba Ni Mediye (1999), which became a massive hit in Gujarati cinema. He followed it up with the critically acclaimed Maiyar Ma Mandu Nathi Lagtu (2001), a film that transcended regional boundaries, was adapted into multiple languages, and won 11 awards.
Over the years, Gangani’s banner has delivered several successful films across genres. His transition from regional Gujarati cinema to Bollywood highlights his versatility and national appeal. In 2015, he returned to Hindi cinema with Bezuban Ishq, under the banner of Gangani Motion Pictures.
