Biography
A veteran actor and theatre personality, Dwijen Banerjee was known for his work in the Bengali film industry. Best remembered for his performance in the ETV Bangla's comedy serial Chuni Panna, Dwijen has a number of television shows and plays to his credit. While he was actively associated with television shows, he was part of certain theatre groups in West Bengal and has plays like Amritakkhar, Ghora, Samabartan, Balidan, Abhimukh, Dashchakra, Mallabhumi, and Mushtijog to his credit.
In 1992, the actor had also formed his own theatre group, calling it Sanstab. Making his debut in the film industry, Dwijen was seen in the 2004 romance Sudhu Tumi, following which he was associated with movies such as Autograph, Ashchorjyo Prodeep, Phoring, Shajarur Kanta, Jaatishwar, Badshahi Angti, and Benche Thakar Gaan. On 27 September 2017, the veteran actor died of a cardiac arrest at the age of 68. His final film Bhalobashar Bari was released posthumously in 2018.
