Biography
Paul Fauzan Agusta (born on September 1, 1980, in Kampung Melayu, South Jakarta) is an Indonesian actor, director, producer, screenwriter, and film curator known for his contributions to independent cinema. He is the son of Minangkabau literary figure Leon Agusta and Margaret "Maggie" Rose Glade, a feminist figure from the United States with German, Irish, and Welsh ancestry.
After completing his film studies in the United States, Paul returned to Indonesia in 2003 and became actively involved in the national film industry. He is known for his belief that video has democratized opportunities for anyone to create in the field of cinema, emphasizing the importance of well-developed storytelling.
One of his latest works is the film Onde Mande! (2023), a family comedy-drama deeply rooted in Minangkabau culture.
