Biography
He is a director and screenwriter from Morelia, Michoacán, born in 1994. In 2017, he was selected to participate in a film workshop held during the Dual Year Mexico-Germany, led by Angela Schanelec and Helena Wittmann from the Academy of Fine Arts Hamburg (Hochschule für bildende Kunst Hamburg, HFBK).
His short films have been screened at festivals such as the Morelia International Film Festival and Shorts México, as well as at international events in countries like Germany, Austria, and Italy. As a director, he created the first Spanish-language adaptations of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s radio plays for Radio Fassbinder, a collaboration between Radio Educación and the Goethe-Institut Mexiko. His most recent short film, Failed Attempts to Hug Each Other (2024), was part of the Mexican Short Film Competition at the latest edition of the Morelia International Film Festival. He has worked as a casting director on short and feature films for production companies such as Mandarina Cine, Amondo Cine, Cárcava Cine, Fidelio Films, Enfant et Poulet, among others.
He is currently a recipient of the Jovenes Creadores grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts, which supports the development of the script for his first feature film.
