Biography
Mario Sequi was an Italian film director and screenwriter, active from the late 1940s to the mid-1970s. Born in Cagliari, Sardinia, he began his career as a production manager in the 1930s before transitioning to directing after World War II. Sequi directed a variety of films, including Altura (1949), a drama set in the Sardinian mountains, and The Monastery of Santa Chiara (1949), a war melodrama. He also ventured into the adventure genre with The Tigers of Mompracem (1970). Sequi was married to actress Lia Franca, and his work is noted for its versatility and engagement with different cinematic styles.
